Dua Lipa, an English singer-songwriter was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. After working as a fashion model her decision was to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album "Dua Lipa" in 2017. It peaked at third place on the U.K. Albums Chart and was followed by eight singles, including Be The One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. number-one track New Rules which peaked at number six on the charts in the United States. Lipa was honored with the Brit Award in 2018 as a British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been certified platinum across a variety of countries. Dua Lipa, who was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London she was born on 22 August 1995. Her maternal grandmother is the reason she is of Bosnian origin. She can trace her ancestry back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Two of Lipa's grandfathers were historians. Gjin as well as Rina are her siblings. Lipa was musically influenced by her father who also serves as the lead guitar player and the singer of the Kosovan band Oda. At home her father continued to play music including his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was five. At the age of nineteen she began singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa covered Beautiful Christina Aguilera's Beautiful as well as If Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys. Her record deal to Warner Bros. Records was signed in the year 2014. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
